WRRB Mission and Vision
October 28, 2021
For those that are new to the WRRB newsletter, welcome! Some of you may not be familiar with what we do, so we wanted to share our Mission and Vision with you. The WRRB was created through the Tłı̨chǫ Agreement in 2005, which places wildlife, plants, forests, and protected areas in Wek’èezhìı, under the purview of the WRRB.
Our Mission
The Wek’èezhìı Renewable Resources Board manages wildlife, plants, forests, and protected areas within Wek’èezhìı through the use of available traditional and scientific knowledge on behalf of Tłı̨chǫ citizens and other members of the public.
Our Vision
In the face of change, wildlife populations, and habitat are healthy today and into the future.
Our Values
Respect
We treat wildlife, each other, our clients, our partners and community stakeholders, and other members of the public with fairness and respect.
Conservation
We actively seek to conserve wildlife and habitat in our area for future generations and consult the public and knowledge holders such as elders, harvesters, and scientists.
Accountability
We are transparent and open in our dealings, working to ensure our processes and practices are effective and benefit those that reside in Wek’èezhìı and all members of the public.
Integrity
We are considerate and act in a fair, respectful, and professional manner, putting into action what we say we will do.
Consensus based decision making
We strive for inclusiveness and consensus in our decisions and are responsive to the people that we serve.
