What’s Happening at the Wek'èezhìı Land and Water Board

Given the recent efforts toward a closer working relationship between the WRRB and the Wek'èezhìı Land and Water Board (WLWB), we want to highlight some exciting news from the WLWB.

The WLWB is excited to announce the appointment of its newest Board Member – Mr. Alex Nitsiza. Alex joins the Board bringing a great deal of experience to the role from his time both in business and economic development in the north. Alex’s career has been notable, particularly with respect to his many appointments to various community and regional posts. He is currently serving as a municipal councillor in Whatì, on the Tłı̨chǫ Community Services Agency (T.C.S.A) Board, as well as a Trustee for the Tłı̨chǫ Capital Transfers Trust. Alex also served for more than 20 years as President of a successful family-owned business in the community of Whatì, which he calls home. Alex brings to the role of Board Member an extensive resume of positions in finance with the Government of the Northwest Territories and the Government of Canada. We welcome Alex to the Board and look forward to his contributions!
