This document accompanies the final report of a workshop held in Yellowkife February 12-13, 2014, as a followup to the October 2013 workshop on long-term planning for the Bathurst caribou. Participants discussed processes to coordinate conservation efforts for the herd.  Participants' ideas, comments, discussion, feedback and questions were recorded on chart paper and were scanned for this second part of the report.

Representatives of the Ɂehdzo Got’ı̨nę Gots’ę́ Nákedı/Sahtú Renewable Resources Board (SRRB) and the WRRB signed a Memorandum of Understanding in October 2015 to coordinate their efforts in the effective management of the Bluenose-East Caribou herd.

Report on a Public Hearing held by the WRRB 22-26 March 2010 and 5-6 August 2010 and Reasons for Decisions Related to a Joint Proposal for the Management of the Bathurst Caribou Herd

In November 2009, the Tłįchǫ Government and ENR submitted the Joint Proposal on Management of Caribou in Wek’èezhìı to the Board, which proposed harvest limitations.  The WRRB considered any restriction of harvest or component of harvest as the establishment of a total allowable harvest (TAH).  The WRRB complied with Section 12.3.10 of the Tłįchǫ Agreement and held a public hearing in Behchokǫ̀, NT in two parts on March 22-26, 2010 and August 5-6, 2010.  This is the final report and reasons for decisions related to the joint proposal for the management of the Bathurst Caribou Herd.  To view documents from the public registry related to the 2009 Bathurst Caribou Joint Proposal, click here.
