PR (BNE 2019): 161 - Estimates of Breeding Females & Adult Herd Size and Analyses of Demographics for the Bluenose-East Herd of Barren-ground Caribou: 2018 Calving Ground Photographic Survey - WORKING DRAFT

This report describes the results of a calving ground photo survey of the Sahtì Ekwǫ̀ (Bluenose-East caribou) herd conducted in June of 2018 near Kugluktuk, NU. The objective was to estimate abundance of breeding females and overall herd size that could be compared to results of previous calving ground surveys done in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

PR (BNE 2019): 156 - Notice of Public Hearing

The WRRB wishes to advise that its Public Hearing related to the 2019 Sahtì Ekwǫ̀ (Bluenose-East caribou) Herd Joint Management Proposal is scheduled for April 9-11, 2019 in Behchokǫ̀, NT at the Behchokǫ̀ Cultural Centre. The Hearing will begin daily at 9:30 a.m. MDT and go to 4:30 p.m. MDT. Daily opportunities for the general public to make statements will be provided.

Following discussions with the ENR, TG and the Intervenors during the pre-hearing conference on March 18, 2019, the WRRB has determined that the deadline for the submission of hearing presentations should be extended for the 2019 Sahtì Ekwǫ̀ (Bluenose-East caribou) Herd Public Hearing.

This is the WRRB's revised work plan for the Sahtì Ekwǫ̀ (Bluenose-East caribou) herd management proposal.  The purpose of the work plan is to outline the processes and timelines to be followed for the sahtì ekwǫ̀ herd joint management proposal. This work plan is subject to change.
