WLWB Highlight - Kwetı̨ı̨ɂaà’s (Rayrock) Remediation Project Hearing

On April 28 to 30, 2021, the WLWB held a Public Hearing for the Type A Water Licence (W2020L8-0003) and Type A Land Use Permit (W2020X0005) Applications for the Kwetı̨ı̨ɂaà’s (Rayrock) Remediation Project.The hearing was held at the Explorer Hotel, as well as virtually for members of the public who wished to participate. There were community hubs set up in Gamètì, Whatì, Wekweètì, and Behchokǫ̀ with time set aside each day that allowed community members to participate and offer comments. The live feed was available through the Land and Water Boards of the Mackenzie Valley’s websites, as well as via Cabin Radio’s Facebook page. Questions from the public were accepted during the hearing via the comments section on the live feed on Cabin Radio’s Facebook page, or through submission to the designated staff member via the Land and Water Boards’ websites’ Latest News section.
