On behalf of the Wek’èezhìı Renewable Resources Board (WRRB), we are pleased to announce the release of our 2019 calendar. This year, we highlighted some of Wek’èezhìı’s beauty by featuring some of the wildflowers that can be found here. Wek’èezhìı’s plants and flowers play essential roles in its ecosystems, but also bring exquisite beauty to its landscapes. In its forests, wetlands, along lake shores or on the tundra, wildflowers provide unexpected colour and fragrance in spring and summer. Plants form the basis of all ecosystems and provide food and shelter for many wildlife species. Calendars are available at your Community Government Offices.
We want to thank all the Tłı̨chǫ artists whose beadwork is featured in this year's calendar. In particular, we want to draw your attention to the front cover. The beadwork was created by Lousia Beaverho of Whatì, and can be found hanging in the Whatì Community Government chamber.
All photos were taken and provided by the Tłı̨chǫ Government and the WRRB, so photo credit has been given to them.
