Exploring Issues of Working Together for the Bathurst Caribou Herd Results Report

This is the final report of a workshop held in Yellowknife October 2-3, 2013 to work towards understanding and addressing key issues of working together in long-term management planning for the Bathurst Caribou herd. 

Common Fish in the Tłı̨chǫ Region (Fish Guide)

This is an updated verson (2014) of the original guide to common fishes found in the Tłı̨chǫ region.  It includes diagrams showing fish anatomy (interior and exterior views) labelled in both Tłı̨chǫ and English and information on each fish species, including its ecology and use. 

Barren-Ground Caribou 2011 / 2012 Harvest and Monitoring Summary

This summary report includes information that was gathered during the 2011 / 2012 fall and winter harvesting seasons, and has been approved by the Barrenground Caribou Technical Working Group. It is part of the implementation of recommendations made by the WRRB in response to the Revised Joint Proposal for caribou management actions in Wek’èezhìı submitted by the Tłı̨chǫ Government and the Government of the Northwest Territories in May 2010.

The report includes reported harvest data for the Bathurst caribou herd and the Bluenose-East caribou herd.  This report also includes information from monitoring activities conducted during this period for the Bathurst, Bluenose-East, and Ahiak and Beverly caribou herds. Monitoring activities included satellite collar tracking, fall composition survey, recruitment (spring survival), calving ground photo and composition survey, and health and body condition sampling. Data on wolf harvest and wolf monitoring activities is also included in this report.

Fish Camp Videos:  Tłı̨chǫ Aquatic Ecosystem Monitoring Program (TAEMP)

These four videos document the fish,water and sediment monitoring camps that have been held since 2011.  The "fish camps" are part of the TAEMP program, a community-based program to monitor the aquatic ecosystems near each of the four Tłı̨chǫ communities.
