ENR Bluenose East and Beverly/Ahiak/Qamanirijuaq Caribou Management Proposals Update

The WRRB is reviewing two management proposals from Environment and Natural Resources (ENR), GNWT to open a one-bull-only resident harvest of barren-ground caribou from either the Beverly-Ahiak-Qamanirijuaq or the Bluenose-East caribou herds. As part of its review, the Board invited the public to submit comments. ENR's proposals and documents related to these proceedings are posted on the Board's Public Registry at www.wrrb.ca ENR's proposal documents include maps showing the Zones where ENR proposes access for resident hunters for a one-bull-only harvest.
The Board has reviewed the information received to date, as well as comments received from the public and is currently awaiting additional information. The Board will then make a recommendation on whether the proposed management actions should be implemented.
