Janelle Nitsiza

Janelle Nitsiza is a Research Coordinator with the Department of Culture and Lands Protection for the Tłı̨chǫ Ndek’awoo (Tłı̨chǫ Government). She is a traditional knowledge learner and leader, a language advocate, and a strong supporter of meaningful relationships between Elders and youth. Janelle is currently a Northern Leadership Development Program (NLDP) student with Aurora College and serves as a community advisor with NWT On The Land Collaborative. She has been a Board Member since 2022, where she contributes her knowledge, lived experience, and voice to support effective, informed decision-making by the Board.
