2019 Ekwǫ̀ Nàxoède K’è (Boots on the Ground) Results Report

The Dedats'eetsaa: Tłı̨chǫ Research and Training Institute (TRTI) results report from the 2019 Ekwǫ̀ Nàxoède K’è (Boots on the Ground) program has now been released. The report describes all the wildlife observations in 2019, including the first dedı̀ı (moose) sightings on Kǫk’èetı (Contwoyto Lake) as well as a discussion of indicator trends from 2016-2019 on the Kǫ̀k’èetı̀ ekwǫ̀ (Bathurst caribou) summer range.

The WRRB is a proud partner of this program, and will be sending out our Conservation Biologist, Aimee Guile, this September for a two week excursion with Ekwǫ̀ Nàxoède K’è volunteers and staff. She will have the opportunity to support research opportunities and observe the ɂekwǫ̀ on the tundra. We look forward to sharing the details of her time on the land with you in our upcoming edition, out this October. We also encourage you to have a look at the results from the 2019 report along with the great photos and videos via the link here.
