December 2019 Board Meeting
January 30, 2020
The WRRB held its final Board Meeting of 2019 on December 9-10. The Board discussed a draft Adaptive Management Framework, as well as reviewed and approved several items: Collar Analysis Proposal, the Bluenose-East, Bluenose-West and Cape Bathurst Caribou Herd Status for the ACCWM, and a Wildlife Research Permit Application for Boreal Caribou Abundance Surveys, Boreal Caribou Collaring and Wolf Surveys for the Tłı̨chǫ All-Season Road. The Board also heard from Moise Rabesca who gave an update on the Species at Risk Committee meeting that he and Aimee Guile attended in October (see Species at Risk Workshop story in this edition of the newsletter for further details on this). We also welcomed Stu Niven to his first meeting as a Board member (see New Board Member Announcement for details on Stu’s appointment), and the Board is excited for his contributions to their decision-making. The next WRRB Board Meeting will take place on February 12 and 13, 2020 at the Yellowknife office of the WRRB, which is located in Denendeh Manor. WRRB Board meetings are open to the public should anyone wish to attend.
