New WLWB Chair and Board Member
This issue’s WLWB feature is all about the changes in Board Members. Last fall, Joe Mackenzie from Behchokǫ̀ retired from the Board after nine years serving originally as a Board Member and later as Chair. Mason Mantla, who is from Behchokǫ̀ and has been with the Board since 2011, was jointly appointed by the Tłı̨chǫ and Federal Governments to the position of Chair. The WLWB Board is excited to welcome Mason into this role, as the Board believes it is crucial to train and give the opportunity to the next generation to make decisions that will affect their future. On December 21, 2021, the Tłı̨chǫ Government appointed Mr. Alex Nitsiza from Whatì to his second term, and Jocelyn Zoe from Behchokǫ̀. Please visit the Current Members page on the WLWBs' website to learn more about their Board Members.
The WLWB would like to thank Joe Mackenzie for his years of dedicated service to the Board and wish him best of luck in the future. Ması̀ cho Joe!
